Michigan Clinical Research Unit Processing Lab Changes

The Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) Lab is happy to announce policy changes effective Tuesday, June 21, 2022, that will hopefully offer added convenience to our study teams. Please see below for more details. 

Lab Hours

Official Lab hours are now 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The cutoff time for guaranteed same-day shipping is 2:00 PM. Specimens that are delivered after that may ship the following day depending on staff availability and courier disposition.

PBMC Processing

Three MCRU staff are now trained on the creation of PBMCs. The cutoff time for PBMC processing is 3:00 PM. Specimens delivered after will be held in the refrigerator for processing the following morning. 

After-hours Lab Access

After-hours lab access will be made available again to study team members after completion of mandatory training. For teams interested in this access, please reach out to MCRU-Corelab@med.umich.edu.
