Offices Allowed to Open for Multi-Person Occupancy

May 28, 2021

A message from Dr. Kunkel:

Dear Colleagues,
Recent changes in both CDC’s guidance and the State of Michigan’s COVID-19 emergency rules have led the Medical School to amend its guidelines for offices and conferences rooms. The guidance for wet-bench labs, maintaining 6 ft of separation, does not change.
Starting June 1, 2021, offices, including those used for dry research, and conference rooms in Medical School buildings are allowed to open with multi-person occupancy that maintains a minimum of 6 ft separation between persons. Individuals must continue to adhere to the most current university and public health guidance, including, among other things, completing training, masking, good hand hygiene, social distancing, and completion of the ResponsiBLUE questionnaire while on campus.
This policy allows us to continue to ramp up our research enterprise; however, it is not a mandate for all who work in the Medical School to immediately return to work. Many who are working remotely will continue to do so until the September 13th date originally communicated by Michigan Medicine. If you have questions about returning to work, please consult with your supervisor.
Best regards,
